Um, why should it be any more of a nightmare than calling any other BBS?
As far as the BBS is concerned, (with certain reservations) an incoming
call is no different from any other incoming call. If you tell it "I am a
VT100 terminal" it treats you like a VT100 Terminal. (Unless the BBS soft
is crap, of course)
The point being: DOn't sweat it. Proterm is THE best comms soft for the
8-Bit apple and should do just fine.
