Seems to me that this was part of one of those lab-kits. If I'm
remembering rightly, there were about 6 in the series, ranging from
weather to biofeedback. This one is probably from the set that played with
reading heartbeats. (I think it was called cardiac lab)
These little dudes came with a card and some software, and a little
lab-book type manual with experiments for Jr. High-school level students
to tinker with.
One of them would let you turn your Apple into a rudimentary oscilloscope
with dual traces. I always wanted to get that one, but by the time I had
an Apple to plug it into, they were no longer to be found.
My guess is that you are goig to have a hard time finding any way to make
it do anything useful for you without the software.
