My sympathies. I have acute hearing in this range and have always suffered
for it. I was literally raised in a TV shop. It's amazing I didn't chew my
own arm off to get out of it.

Leave the backs on but loose, so you can pull them off and spray the freeze
mist real quick.
If the flybacks are bolted down with grommets under them, you might try
replacing those. They get dried out and cease to act as cushions. Maybe even
try wedging them with some other cushioning material. There should be enough
pin on the bottom of the flyback that you could wedge maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch
of cushion under them and still have pin to solder to the board.
