Have you tried booting from a floppy?  Or is that what you mean when you 
say you have nothing to switch with?  Well, if you can, get/borrow/buy a 
3.5" drive and try booting from it using a GS/OS system disk, or if you 
have a utility like Copy II Plus, try that and see if you can catalog 
the hard drive.  I wish I could be of more help, even though I've solved 
most of my hard drive problems myself, I really don't know too much 
about them.
