I've had good luck a number of times:

1. Turn off your //e but don't remove plug from wall
2. Open the lid
3. Touch the power supply case to discharge any static from your body
4. Put your two thumbs (three if you have 'em) on each chip and push
   "firmly." You want to hear a "scrunch" sound as the chip seats. You
   do NOT want to hear a cracking sound as your mother board breaks in-two
   so leave your Rambo instincts on the back burner.

Loop on steps 2 & 3 for all the chips on the motherboard and PERHAPS
some of the slot cards - which you will have to remove and set on
something non-metalic so you can perform your famous two/three thumb
trick.
