If you would quote the sentence in context, you would see that my original
message basically said "who cares what Rolf does? If he wants to create his
own channel, that's his business." I don't need to know _anything_ about IRC
to know that if Rolf wants a choice between IRC channels, it's his prerogative,
not yours, to create a new one. I wasn't telling you what to do, I was simply
saying "what's done is done." Let me be frank -- I don't mind #appleiigs. The
people there are interesting, and talkative. If someone doesn't like it, not
they have another alternative. No one expects people on #appleiigs (or any
other place, whether it be Usenet or whatever) to answer all their questions
like some technical support staff. If they expect that, they _should_ get
flamed and/or kicked. I have been on IRC a couple of times, in #appleiigs, and
I didn't mind at all. The discussion was always interesting, but come on.
This whole discussion is pointless. If Rolf's channel doesn't last, it doesn't
last. If it does, it does (with "tyrannical rules" intact). Give me one
reason why _anyone_ on #appleiigs should care whether or not a new channel
forms and I'd be happy to listen.

This is the lamest thing I have ever heard. There are plenty of other members
of this newsgroup, including myself, who have large .sigs. If I want a large
sig, I'll have one. I don't see you complaining about (not to name names) a
certain Frenchman's _half-screen_ .sig, and various other .sigs that are
frequently seen in this newsgroup... I don't really care how long .sigs are,
and frankly, I don't care if you care. 'nuff said. If you don't want to see
my .sig, you don't have to see it. (Besides, what does this have to do with
the original topic anyways? Complaining about someone's .sig is not a good way
to express your opinion...) I've been on usenet long enough to not be
considered a "newbie" and I think I can figure out for myself what I want to
put in my messages (and I'm sure others can figure out what they want to put in
theirs).

You might also want to pick up a couple tips of Usenet etiquette -- quote
messages in context!!! It makes it a lot easier to discern what the original
message said and meant. And, not to try to censor you, remember that kids do
read this newsgroup. Please try to keep the swearing down to a minimum, and
if you're going to flame someone, at least have some decent opposition to their
original message! Not this "your .sig is too f*ing long, you don't know any
f*ing thing about what you're talking about" garbage. If you didn't agree with
my original message, fine. I respect that. But don't start shooting your
mouth off if you don't have something to say.

Now, can we all stop this petty bickering? Sheesh. What's done is done.

(Sorry if this message got a little long-winded... Petty arguements are one of
my biggest pet peeves... ;-)

(Just for you, Jess, I've redesigned my .sig for this message. I hope you
enjoy it...)
