Depends where the noise is coming from... it could well be the 
anti-static brush that rubs on the end of the main spindle. After a few 
years some of them get noisy. If so, you have two options. Either remove 
the brush or replace it. Trying to re-set it take more than a little luck 
for success...   *<8o)X
Otherwise, keep the drive well backed-up and start saving... :)
