There are two ways to do this. I have a disk ][ controler card in slot 6.
If you are using ProDOS or DOS 3.x, the slot doesn't matter. CP/M and
Pascal require the drive to be in slot 6. Set slot 6 to your card.
The other way it to use a cable. There is a cable that daisy chains to a
3.5 drive and has two 20-pin connectors for the disk ][.

Any bit copier has a speed checking routine. Remove the four screws from
the bottom of the drive. Behind the mechanism, in the lower right corner
(with the front of the drive facing you) is a pot. Slowly adjust this
until the speed is right [the copy ][+ manual has full instructions].
Two more things: 1) If you use the disk controler card, you may want to
leave slot 6 set to smartport when you are not using the disk ][(s).
This will prevent GS/OS from grinding them too much-or having ProDOS
check for non-existent disks. 2) Under GS/OS (staring with v 6.x I think)
under the special menu, you can select preferences and adjust whether to
have the disk][(s) checked on fider startup.
