Publishit 4 won't recognise my Ram card

Once agin a good friend of mine has unloaded yet another box full
of his old apple II stuff on me.  I was excited to find a copy of
Publishit 4 and its associated manuals within the box.  My IIe 
has a SuperExpander 1 Meg ram/80col card installed in the Aux slot.
When I boot up Publishit 4 and check the status from the main menu
it indicates that I have only 29k of memory available.  This makes
the program close to useless.  I have tried all of the memory 
configuration options with no luck.  My ram card came with a disk
containing some patch routines for appleworks thru v 3.0, and GEOS.
None of .these seem to appy to Publishit 4.  Most of my other programs
including proterm 3.0 Appleworks 3.0 and Copy II+ all recognise
and use the card.   

Any light someone could shed on ths matter would be appreciated!
