Who are they? The Disk ][ is a dumb device and once the //e tries to boot from
it it will hang if the disk is not bootable. To boot off your HD put the
controller card in a higher slot than the Disk ][ card. If the HD fails to
boot then the slotscan will continue in the next lower slot. Alternatively
get a smart 5.25" controller like the UDC.
