Yes, the 500c & 550c have both serial and parallel ports and using the
serial one is the right thing to do, HOWEVER, the new HP560C does NOT have
a serial port!! Which means if you use it you have to use the parallel
connection with an Epson emulation (read: reduced capabilities).
(eg. DON'T buy the new HP inkjet.....)
