MEI sells a refill kit for $8.49 for two refill kits which is about 1/6
the cost of a new cartridge. The better news is that after you use it
you can refill the refill bottle with Script black ink for about $1.00
(Finding ink isn't all that easy though. I had to go to one of those
office super stores.)
A hypodermic would work if it had a 1 1/4" (4cm?) needle. I tried with
a shorter needle and it just caused a mess. You have to be able to get
the needls down to the very bottom of the cartridge.
I have refilled one cartridge two times so far and have not noticed any
degredation of print quality. MEI claims 5-7 times in their ad. (Note,
this is for black only. Don't know if the colored inks are available on
the open market. (I think you can bet your buttons that Script makes
the ink used in the HP. Feedback if someone has contrary knowledge.)
