Question: Hooking up a 3.5" drive to a //e.

Hello. I'm wondering about hooking up a 3.5" drive to my //e. Now, I've never
seen a //e with a 3.5" drive for some reason, but it shouldn't be a problem.
One question is what do I need to hook up a 3.5" drive? I have Apple's disk
controller card, but I think the 3.5" drive will need a whole new controller.
I noticed the //gs puts the 3.5" drive in slot 5.I'll probably also need a
newer version of ProDOS. I don't think my ancient ProDOS 1.0 utilities care
much for 3.5" drives. The other question is how available are //e drives now?
I remember Applied Engineering used to sell them, but are they still around?
Is anyone still around, or will I have to search for someone who wants to
get rid of his drive?

If any of you //e owners have 3.5" drives installed, I'd like to hear from
you. Where did you get it? What make is it? Did you have to get a controller
card seperately? Which version of ProDOS are you running? A rough idea of
price would be nice, too, even if a little inaccurate now.

(It would be really nice to get a hold of an Apple 3.5" drive. I've always
loved Apple hardware!) ;-)

Thanks in advance,
