Re: uncompressing GNU-Zip files on a IIGS - how!?



There's no program to do this on a GS.  If the machine you're using to read
news is a UNIX machine (or, actually, a VAX, Prime, or many others), you
can ftp the sources for gzip and compile it to uncompress the files there
before transferring them to your GS.  I don't remember where the gzip
sources are, but I think they're somewhere at MIT (with the rest of the GNU
stuff, anyway).
