Probably the simplest solution would be to write a simple BASIC program 
to run from your hard disk and boot slot 6.  For example,

10 PRINT CHR$(4)"PR#6"

Now, with your hard disk installed in slot 7, simply run this program and it 
will boot your floppy.  Of course, you'll need to have BASIC.system as the
first ".system" file or else use a program selector that will let you run the
program from some sort of menu.
