Re: GS Question #3: Mouse
Relative advantages of a Trackball as opposed to a mouse have been
stated for the most part; Less space and wickedly cute.
I will add to that, speed and ease of use, in addition to the fact that
it is a joy to use for games such as Crystal Quest.
It took me perhaps two weeks to become fully adjusted to using the
TurboMouse as opposed to the ordinary mouse and once I was, I preferred
it. I don't have to pick up anything and move it, I won't run out of
space on the mouse-pad. I can quickly move from one corner of the
desktop to another with a flick of a finger. I have the option of
click-lock which can come in handy where there is not a 'select all'
option in a text editor or such.
Many if not most or even all GS ADB keyboard ports wear out sooner than
the other components. With a TurboMouse, I have an extra port to use if
one on my keyboard decides to quit functioning. Also, the ADB connectors
in the TurboMouse may be very easily replaced- they are just connected
to a hunk of circuit board and a ribbon cable to the main TurboMouse
circuit board.
Another final joyous effect of owning a TurboMouse is the fact that it
just doesn't need monthly or weekly cleaning. It generally does NOT get
gunky.
I'm glad I didn't give-up on the TurboMouse the first few days or weeks
of owning it. I even bought a second one to be used on a friend's Mac..
I don't really enjoy using a Mac, but if I was stuck with a regular
mouse, I would go crazy (I wouldn't touch the Mac- simply too annoying).
