I can't say this with any *authority* but I'd speculate that what has
happened is that Apple didn't test with obsolete versions of all P8-based
software before releasing ProDOS 2.0.1 and that the new version has broken
backward compatibility.  Most software vendors do the same thing - after
some point in the development of a new operating system, they tell the
customer it's time to upgrade his/her applications.  I tried AW V3.0 with
ProDOS 2.0.1, and it works fine.
