Okay, fine, so the issue is the possibility of losing screen data or
something, right? If you use GS Spy, you'll notice that the green/red "LEDs"
do not stay on solidly for the duration of a read or right. They tend to
flicker, just like a real HD light. But you know that. So, if GS-Spy (or
some, hopefully new, init) replaces the pixels it used before at each
"flicker", then is there any problem with programs that _do_ write to the
left of the menu bar, like The Manager? I don't have/don't use The Manager,
so I haven't a clue, but what does TM write to the left of the menu bar? An
application icon? I mean, if this hard drive light init replaced the pixels
it uses, what sort of problem is there? I can't imagine that TM writes
critical info to the left of the menubar that gets updated every few ticks
or so, that the light init would lose.
