Thanks, Philip. I see people are cross-posting between csa2 and the
new subgroups which is fine for about the first month. That will give
people a chance to see what goes on in the other groups and ease the
transition. Imagine what would have happened if csa2 was renamed
comp.sys.apple2.misc!

Your sysadmin and my sysadmin at Scarborough must be the same
person. :( We've been getting all sorts of empty and useless
newsgroups here recently, but nothing from csa2.* yet.

R-Node and ZOOiD are merging to form Internex Online (io.org) in
less than a week. R-Node is already carrying the new groups and they
will most certainly be carried over to the new service. I personally
think Internex will give me more value for my dollar than CRS (although
I will still watch the Apple II conference, but from a free BBS). You
can get news, e-mail and IRC access for free, but only 30 minutes per
day (i.e., use an offline reader). I think io.org will be the most
significant Toronto public-access UNIX development in years. The
Freenet won't be going online for at least another year or two, and it
won't provide as good access as Internex.
