SCSI ID Question

	I opened my harddrive case today to investigate an unusual sound that
has been going on ever since I got the drive about a year ago. I sort of]
suspected that the noise had something to do with the fan. I was sort of 
currect. The end of the ribbon cable that is connected to the SCSI ID thing
was on top of the blade of the fan. So the noise is stopped, but I have a
SCSI ID cable that is not hooked to anything. This seems weird. I would
like to know where this SCSI ID cable connects. Does it connect to the 
harddrive? I have looked it over a bit and I can't seem to find a similar
connector. The SCSI ID cable has 2 3 element female connectors. The 
harddrive is a 3.5 Maxtor 80MB Model 7080SR. If anyone can tell me where
I can hook this SCSI ID cable I would appreciate it. By the way, the drive
has several jumpers on the back which I think might have something to do 
with the SCSI ID of the drive.

	Also, I would like to know how I can figure out the rating of the power
supply in the harddrive case. I suspect that most are @40W but I am not sure.
What I would like to do is to see if I might be able to use the power supply
in the harddrive case to power my harddrive and a floptical drive. And if
anyone would happen to know what kind of wattage an average 3.5 harddrive
about 2 years old would require I would appreciate it and also how much
wattage a 3.5 21MB floptical drive requires.

If anyone could help me with any of the above questions I would appreciate it.
