I have a feeling it is the Hierarchic INIT. If I prevent Kangaroo
from installing hierarchical menus in ShadowWrite (i.e., by setting SW's
application group back to Universal instead of Word Processing), the
menus are fine. It works fine with Kangaroo installed, *until* a
hierarchical menu is inserted into the File menu.

Oops, right... forgot that you can only have a single ruler. :(

Does this mean you're going to make a ShadowWrite application?
Maybe ShadowWord? :)

But this deletes *all* CR's and that's not the same as "Paragraph
Format". Lines which start with a space or other non-alphanumeric
character mark the start of a new paragraph (and thus the preceding CR
should not be deleted).

Sure, that's why it's an option in Preferences, so you can turn it
on and off. :)

But don't you already use two window templates (I haven't checked
yet)? The 320-mode dialog starts right up against the side of the
screen, but the 640-mode dialog is somewhat centered. Since you have
the extra space in 640 mode (where SW will be used most of the time
anyway), you might as well use it.

But appending from disk is much faster.

Not if you're a Harmonie user. The resolution can be set anywhere
between 1 dpi (1 pixel = 72 points) to 360 dpi (1 pixel = 0.2 point).
The ruler markings should also reflect the current printer setup. I
think BET does this already (Jim?)
