FWIW, when I'm done with them, they're better than when they left Sony
the first time. Silicone does not have the same issues that the crap
white lithium based grease that was in there did.  :)

These drives don't operate in a dusty environment, or a heat laden
one, unless they're internal. The Internal ones tend to get jammed up
due to heat and dust being sucked into them. I used to laugh at that
plastic thing Apple put around the drives on the Macs after the first
SE's and II's having fans now sucked everything in the nice open low
resistance drive hole. It was actually worse.
