Regarding the room of the Guardian and the "chest flying around the
alcoves".. 
 I believe that there is either one spot that is open or one that can be
opened (with the mirror as a key?) but you just keep pressing the buttons
until it finally appears in the open space.
 
 I've gone through the whole game at least twice and haven't ever solved
it. I know I had done something wrong at the very end but Oh well. I'll try
beating it again someday- I do have pretty good maps though.. hehe
