  To get past Time of the Essence, all of your characters must not be
carrying too much weight.  If they have too much, they can't get past the
wall fast enough.  Just make sure all of the characters have the grey color
in there carrying section.  Also you should face the wall after pressing
the button.  That's how I did it.
