FORMATTING HFS disks for use on MACS!

I have recently decided to do some major downloading of software from
macs at school to be used on my GS at the dorm. I have an old Quantum 280
80 meg drive I am using for this. I tried formatting on the GS as hfs and
doing the ADU and generic mac scsi thing that people are saying. Nothing
seemed to work.

The trick I used was I got ahold of the Apple Disk Utilities for the MAC
and did a format via the mac and then partitioned it via the mac.
I then had the mac utility MOUNT my harddisk.

I loaded a few things on it to test. Took it back to my room connected ti
up to my GS and low and behold the thing works perfectly now.!!!!

My advice is then to all that want to do this. Format and partition on the
mac end. It is very easy after that. I know it can be done on the GS side
but this is a quick and easy solution. After all you are going to be using
it with a mac anyway right? Might as well take the easy solution to the
problem and save hours of frustration.

P.S. the formatting utility I was using was from APPLE and was the 40sc
Utility disk.
