You are right. I did. My mistake and thanks for catching it. :)
The slot defaults are:
0-> Monitor (40 columns)
1-> Printer
2-> Modem
3-> Monitor (80 columns)
4-> CPM card/mouse/misc./any suggestions?
5-> Secondary disk drive slot/mouse
6-> Primary disk drive slot/Hard disk slot
7-> 800k disk drive slot/misc/mouse/suggestions?
In addition, the //e and //gs have a separate slot for their 80 column
cards. You will usually find, though, that a ram card/80 column card
is in this slot. There were several manufacturers of these but only
Applied Engineering comes to mind at present.
My Apple //e is a good example. Every slot has something in it. Even
slot #3 has something in it (TransWarp). I sometimes sit and sigh thinking
that it would be nice if the Apple has sixteen, twenty-four, or even
thirty-two slots to it. But then I'd just have them all filled and my
electric bill would be out the wazoo! ;)
