HELP need early Version of Apple 2GS O/S.

Sorry if this is a FAQ.

I have not so long ago replaced a 3.5 floppy on a friends IIGS, but, 
I cannot test it to see if it runs because I have miss placed his system
disks. I have looked everywhere for another system but could only find 
sys 5xx. When I boot from this system, I get a messege telling me I need a
later version of ROM to drive this system.

My question is, is there a archive sit that carries pre sys 5xx O/S?
If so what is the address? 
Can I copy the images over to my mac plus and make a disk for the IIGS on the
Plus's drive?
Any idea where I can get a image disk image copy program?
