SOunds like the classic bad solder joint in keyboard syndrome. I just went
through this myself last summer. Basically, the socket your keyboard
cable plugs into will slowly have its solder joints broken due to
the stress caused by the cable. Simply take the back of your keyboard and
lightly reheat and remelt the solder joints on the connector.
This fixed mine when I had the problem. In fact, when I started to
resolder, I saw how the entire joint had come off of the pc board. I had
not even noticed that until I finally resoldered it. All it takes
is a microscopic hairline fracture and the joint will be bad.
