Unless you are using AppleTalk, you could put your HD in slot seven, and then
put your stereo card in any available slot.  The stereo card could go in 
slot 2, and you could still you the modem port.  

I have my FutureSound board in slot 6, and I and just switch the control panel
setting to drive port when I need to use the 5.25.  THe only time I need
it set to your card is when I digitize sound.  The stereo output doesn't 
depend on the slot setting.
