The major things to be gained are:
1) Bigger than 32 meg partitions
2) Longer filenames & filenames with 'funky characters' in them (spaces,
commas, 
   whatever else you can think of).
3) Faster than HFS.

I have 2 32 meg ProDOS partitions and the rest HFS on my 105 meg drive,
just because
I didn't want two more partitions.

An FST that was basically ProDOS but expanded in the above ways would
meet that
goal.
