I'm very interested in the problems that are experienced with the FastPath 5. I didn't run each setup for longer than a few minutes, so I have not seen the problems. Is it specific to A2s (with the LocalTalk adapter) or to the IIgs? If the IIgs does need Phase I, wasn't there a setting in the FastPath 5 to select either Phase I or Phase II?
I tried just about everything, IIRC (it's been over 10 years since I relegated my FP5 to the garage).
I could crash the session with 100% reliability by starting WorkPerfect GS from my netatalk server and walking away. Within 15-20 minutes, the GS would become non-responsive. Logs on the Linux server report only that the session was terminated by remote client. I always assumed that the FP5 was not properly managing Appletalk "keep alive" traffic (cannot remember what their equivalent of icmp is called).
With the FP4 or my current Gatorbox CS it will stay up all day.
