Work well with _what_ is the key question. I see no indication that
anyone connected one to an Apple IIGS. Experience by myself and many
others on this forum suggests that VERY few scan converters are
capable of good results with the IIGS. Certainly nothing in the $50
price range. The Highway 100 has been a consistent performer, but it
costs > $200 US.
The advantage of aan analog RGB/SCART to component converter is that
it does not sample and regenerate the video signal, as a scan converter
does. Therefore, it should provide an excellent picture on any TV or
monitor capable of 15kHz component input.
This is not a solution for those who want VGA video (for a KVM switch,
for example), but it is a great solution for those who want IIgs video
on a 15kHz (TV) monitor.
