True, but the smart eBayer factors in any such apparent padding when 
bidding and it helps to know what the shipping charge ultimately will 
be. In this auction, I really can't tell with confidence what the winner 
is going to pay above their bid.

That said, I recently got a sweet deal on something fairly popular 
because the seller was gouging on s/h, but they were doing it so 
blatantly that almost noone bid against me and my "this is how much I'm 
willing to pay considering the shipping" lowball never got challenged.
