The ROM is just gonna make the card skip startup, the thing is holding
the bus up.

If the ROM got popped 'cause of the backward SCSI cable you can bet
that a path of destruction was blazed between the two and there's
plenty between 'em.

I'd start poking around at the 245, 244.. stuff on the edge connector.
though it would be a whole lot easier if it were a Rev C..

I totally agree with what Tony has said, and would like to add that if there was a break in data transfer or logic, the IIgs may still boot, but, since there is no boot, then this most likely indicates a short, and I'd refrain from inserting the card any longer until I determined where the short is.

Thank you, Tony and Bill...
It seems like a short in one of the components is the most likely culprit. I conducted one more (quick) experiment. I pulled the ROM chip and the two memory chips and tried to boot. Same result (no boink, and only some small color blocks on the monitor.

OK...
What does one do with a defunct RAMFast D? Does anyone repair them? Or do I mount it on a walnut board on the wall with a placard that says: "Don't EVER buy anything 'as is' again!"
