Correct. They can't be interchanged.

It should be noted that you can easily manipulate the CF card's data on PC or Mac. If you use a PC you should try CiderPress. It's a very useful utility for handling II format archives (but not binscii) as well as disk images of all sizes. CiderPress could easily copy or update CF partitions or data between either card.
