ProDOS 8 v2.0.x added support for Smartport cards with more than 2
drives/volumes (more than 4 if in slot 5). It is still limited by the
14 volume limit imposed by the 4 bit drive/slot encoding of the ProDOS
unit #. If you have more volumes on a Smartport card, the higher
numbered ones will be unavailable under ProDOS 8 (but not GS/OS).
My program will allow you to swap one or more lower numbered devices
with higher numbered devices - you will still be limited to the same
number of online volumes but you get to choose which ones.
I may even add optional support for having a 15th volume online (unit
$80 aka Slot 0 Drive 2) however this may not be supported by all
programs.
