Re: Question on ProDOS SmartPort drive remapping
Thanks to everyone for the detailed info! I have some learning to do.
I am writing down what I learn to help others in the future. Those
little flash cards really make Apple II's more fun. Swapping floppies
was always a pain.
I have a Platinum IIe with a printer card in slot 1. I don't know the
details on that and I've never used it. I've got an Apple memory
expansion card in slot 2, and that gets mounted as /RAM2. The built-in
slot 3 ram gets mounted as /RAM. I have a 5.25" floppy controller in
slot 6, and the Microdrive CF Card board in slot 7.
I am looking for a CP/M board but I don't have one yet. I understand
they have a strong preference for slot 4.
It sounds like I can maybe fully utilize a 256 Meg CF card, since
SmartPort can re-use slots without block devices. This is good news!
Now I have to figure out DOS.MASTER so I can get a bunch of DOS 3.3
images onto the flash card.
By the way, I'm interested in the mods for ProDOS to let it support
more drives. Very sweet idea.
