PART-SOLVED: Focus Utilities vs CF to IDE adaptor?

Well, I solved half the problem - while trying out my original ADB 
keyboard (which has only one working ADB port), I was trying different 
OpenApple key combinations to try and get the formatting going sans 
mouse (without having taken note of any key commands previously, which 
probably helped me in the end). OpenApple-H I knew was the hardware 
test, and it again reported no drive.

I then tried OpenApple-F (format, I hoped), but that brought up Find 
File. I then tried OpenApple-P (partition, I hoped) and that reporting 
parking the drive head (which I hadn't thought to try, and wouldn't have 
tried if I knew OpenApple-P did that). I then did OpenApple-H again, and 
lo and behold it said everything was working fine!

I then fast-formatted/partitioned the drive with the OpenApple-Return 
trick and was up and away.

Tried the same with the 512MB card, but haven't been able to replicate 
success, yet.

Tony, thanks for confirming that everything _should_ work - it made me 
much less likely to give up and waste a 20GB HD on it :) Now just to 
figure out the 512MB card's problem.
