Re: Localtalk ISA card obtainability?

Hello.

Just recently I decided to put together a nice DOS box for quite a few
reasons. In the process of going through my cards looking for a suitable
NIC I couldn't help remembering that there was a PC LocalTalk card.
I have never seen one personally and have only ever heard of one person that
has one.
What I would like to know is are the PC LocalTalk cards obtainable?
Are they rare because they are highly sought after or because people didn't
care much for them and most got turfed?

I'm not sure that the Linux driver has been maintained. I had several varieties of these installed in the late 90s; Apple, Farrallon, COPS. All of the Linux drivers were flaky to some degree. Worst part is that the //gs LocalTalk port simply refuses to work with them. I was able to get Netatalk and my //e workstation card to communicate, but throughput was awful.

As others comment, avoid a lot of gas and heartburn by using an ethernet <--> localtalk bridge.
