The "slinky" card is a "normal" expansion card with up to 1MB (AFAIK).
Used mostly as a ramdisk or for Appleworks. It has its own firmware.
I guess it's called "slinky" because its a long and slim card.
I read that they may be used with a GS but I haven't tried that.
The 80col/64k is only usable in the IIe auxiliary slot and doubles
the system memory at the same addresses.
This card makes the 80 column & double hires modes usable.
Used also by programs (for example Merlin) or ProDOS by bank
switching.
Lots of IIe's have these cards and all IIc(+) have these
functionality.
