Handshaking and lines/cables are what come to mind immediately.
Timing is maybe a possibility... is your IIgs accelerated? I just
lucked into a free(!) TransWarp'd IIgs and it absolutely hauls. I get
something like 2x performance throughput improvement. Transferring
800k disks, the drive never even spins down - it keeps busy. Ah,
never mind - I'm just bragging now.

I have both, and haven't noticed a difference. I however also had bad
serial ports on one ROM03 mobo - you might try your ROM01 just to rule
bad serial ports.

You're welcome. It's really been a fun little project. My wife
thinks I'm crazy, but there you go. I have the sneaking suspicion I'm
not alone in that respect.
