Most TV's (now) employ this trick, but not to the same extent as the
AppleColour monitor, which increases it's luminance processing to be
equivalent to a monochrome display. The image is so good it's almost
indistinguishable from a mono display, with the exception of the
shadow mask causing some very slight distortion.
