I had a shipment of about 12 boxes of Apple II stuff sent to me via
UPS from California to Ontario and after a few days of waiting I
checked the tracking number and found that a few of the boxes were
waiting in customs for the rest of the order to show up before it
could be cleared and the rest of the boxes were in a UPS depot
somewhere in the states. I called UPS but they wouldn't help me and
told me I had to get the shipper to deal with it. He called them and
a few days later, the entire order was left on his doorstep without
getting a signature. He of course made UPS ship it again without
charge and it finally made it to me.
At the time, I worked for Fedex and knew what kinds of problems these
companies can have but that was the weirdest thing I'd ever seen.
