In slot 3? Wow. Sorry about the lowercase bit, which is pretty easily
resolved, but I don't know if I can support slot 3 very easily. To
keep the code size small, I hard-coded references to the slot 2
locations in the assembly code. That's why you saw really bizzare
errors when it tried to change the port speed on the apple. It monkied
with whatever you have in slot 2, and that card got pretty ticked off.
:-/ I think the lowercase is the reason why it keeps repeating the
801:... bit. The ][ might be echoing back an uppercase letter instead
of a lowercase, since it goes thru the SSC firmware. So the java
program assumes the echoed data is invalid and keeps trying again.
This is pretty easy to fix, but requires recompiling the java code.
I'll post that soon and let you know. Sorry I didn't test against an
old ][... I don't have one handy, in case you haven't guessed by now.
;-) At any rate, if you absolutely need slot 3 support, I can rework
the assembly bit and produce a few versions.
So quick poll: If you didn't have your SSC in slot 2, where would you
put it?
Happy new year!
