Hi,
I recently got a IIgs ROM 3 with1Mb RAM expansion card and have been
trying desperately to set it up for disk transfers from one of my Macs.
I have a PC but would rather use my one of my Macs to do this. I am
trying to use MacADT to do this (though I've tried II2Mac also). I have
read the FAQ's many times and I swear I have this setup correct..
though that's obviously not right since it ain't happening. I have a
Super Serial Card installed in slot 2 and configured according to the
faq, terminal/modem jumper and all. I only have a dsub25 connector for
the SSC (could that be the problem?) and I have a dsub25 to din 8 cable
to connect to the Mac and I tried to use both printer and comm ports on
2 different Macs. They are not communicating. I have tried several
different cables of the same type thinking that might be the problem to
no avail. I have ADT on 5.25 from previous ventures on a IIc and have
tried to resend ADT many times to the gs, again, no joy. I'm sure my
inexperience is the main issue here but I'd really like to get this
going. I have 20 or so 5.25 disks that I would like to get backed up ..
some of the titles I have not seen in the archives. They are in rather
bad condition but most of them I've tested have been useable.
Is it possible to do whole disk xfers from Mac to gs using the gs's
built in modem or printer port (din 8) or is only possible w/ the SSC?
I also have a IIc to imagewriter/modem cable but the connector is a 5
pin din to mini 8 pin din... .which will work on the gs's built in
printer port.... is that an option?
I have managed to get GS/OS up and running after some trial and
error making the images from Apple's site and now have a boot 800k 3.5
disk made and it works well ... can GS/OS possibly be used to connect
to the Mac and pull the images? If so, what software do I need to do
that?
Thank you for your attention and any help you might offer!
