ADT 1.2.x doesn't work with IIgs.
If you have IIgs and MacOSX, then I highly recommend ADTPro.

Set ADTPro on IIgs to use IIGS MODEM port. Not SSC #2. SSC #2 on IIgs
is little bit different from standard spec so it won't work.
Do not use SSC #2 on IIgs but use IIGS MODEM port instead.
However if you have IIc/IIc+ and Old mac, then ADT 1.2.x is the answer.
