Which is why Self-Extracting Archives are a such a bad idea. The data
they contain may be useful long after the platform the self-extractor
runs on is obsolete.
Depending on the format you might have luck opening them with StuffIt
Expander. Otherwise there are emulators that will allow an Intel-based
Mac to run old versions of the Mac OS.
