Well my AL250 implementation consists of the AL250 circuit and a separate board that can either be a socket to place over the chip on a rom 3 or a socket and insert for the Rom1. (Pull the chip and place a tap in the socket and place the VGC in a socket on the tap. Of course I have also considered simply making a board with very small pins hanging strait down to shove into the socket without removing the chip.
Wanna see pictures? I developed a circuit for the Rom3. This one is at a right angle so I can more easily work with it, but it was designed to sit under the power supply and have a VGA plug dangle out the back. (MY PS sits alongside when I am 'playing'.
