I thought the name sounded familiar. Let us know how it goes.
Well, others have already found some good info about it. I got "Hello
world" to compile and run (remembering that Modula-2 is case sensitive
helps :)
I *like* case-sensitivity. My eyes are also case-sensitive. ;-)
This might be worth playing around with a bit but the system itself is
not really what I'd call "user friendly". I can see why it never
caught on. A four pass compiler that takes over a minute to compile
just about the smallest program possible didn't help its popularity,
either!
How much time is I/O time and how much is processor time?
Put another way, how would it run from a hard disk and/or with an
accelerator?
A small program is often the worst case for a multipass compiler,
since it has to load all the passes, and each has very little to do.
The source code for the InOut module is included which offers clues to
some of the other modules.
I wonder if this system uses a p-code interpreter like Apple Pascal and
Apple Fortran did?
Apparently so.
