I have several Color Classics for these reasons- it makes a very
compact color IIe equipped with a hardisk and 3.5" drive, and eases
file transfers between PC's/Macs/Apple II's, and 5.25" and 3.5" disks.

You can also do a couple of mods- slide in the motherbd from a Mac 575
and you've got 040 cpu performance and you can still use the IIe card
(set memory to 24 bits). This make the Color Classic a "Mystic", like
the Color Classic II which was only available in Japan. (Do a search
for "Color Classic" and "Mystic" to get the details on this.)

If you're handy with a soldering iron and dremel tool you can also
increase the Color Classic screen resolution to VGA. I verified that
the IIe card still displays correctly afterwards. (Again, do a search
for "VGA mod" and "Color Classic" to get the details)

I've tried to find some Mac DOS or Windows emulation software that
would run on the Mystic, so I could have a Mac/PC/Apple II in one box,
but haven't so far...
